Easy Cinnamon Roll Granola

Granola is a staple in our family.  We LOVE it in the mornings with Almond milk, bananas, and blueberries.  Mmm mm.  What a way to start off the day!  Sometimes, we even add a bit of protein to the mix.

The one thing we don’t like about granola is all the weird additives they add to it.  Inulin, glycerin, syrups, dry milk, sugar, natural flavors, oils, corn starch, soy lecithin, etc. are just a few of the many additives I’ve seen in granolas.  It’s frustrating when you’re trying to eat clean, whole foods!

We decided to take matters into our own hands.  We were no longer going to buy store bought, filler filled granola!  The search for a good recipe was on!

My husband actually found the base recipe that we now love.  Go hubby!  With a few tweaks, this is now our favorite recipe.

Cinnamon Roll Granola is a mouthwatering, easy dish that only requires five ingredients!  Naturally sweetened, and made with whole ingredients, there’s no shame in eating this for breakfast or dessert!

I recommend making two batches of this recipe as it tends to go quickly.  We never have the granola around for more than five days.

I also recommend placing a thermometer inside your oven to check the temperature.  Most ovens are off by about plus/minus 10 degrees of what it says it thinks it is.  Even when ovens are calibrated, they tend to get off very quickly.  You can find one online for under $10.00.  Amazon and Target have a few that are similar to the one I use.

This recipe can be straight oats, or have any additions you prefer.  Once the oats and nuts (optional) have been toasted, add the additions you desire to the baking sheet and put back into the turned off oven for the remaining five minutes (see directions in recipe below).  Additions usually consist of any kind of dried fruit, nuts, or seeds.

Bon appetit!
